HR Administrator – Digital Mobile
As the HR Administrator at Digital Mobile Michelle’s days are spent ensuring the stores are adequately staffed so that a high level of customer service can be provided .This involves a whole host of activities including rostering and monitoring the brand’s Payroll and People Management System.
Michelle is also involved in hiring new employees. She regularly phone screens applicants, arranges interviews and runs new employees through the onboarding process giving them the tools to succeed as soon as they hit the shop floor.
While studying towards a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Psychology and English Michelle worked part time in retail. On finishing her degree she landed a full time Retail Assistant position with Digital Mobile. The flat line management style of the brand meant she had a lot of interaction with the support team and got to try her hand at different aspects of retail including VM.
When an HR Administrator role became available in the support office Michelle jumped at the chance. Her in-store experience has proved invaluable – she can empathies with the store teams and understands the challenges and rewards they face daily. What’s more her time on the shop floor opened doors for her to work in HR – a career move she may not have pursued otherwise.
